As part of the 2021 Biophysics week, the Biophysical Society (BPS) hosted a screening of the documentary Picture a Scientist.
Despite the minimal news coverage, sexual harassment and gender inequality against women are just as prevalent in science than they are in pop culture and corporate settings. “Picture a Scientist” highlights these issues and hopes to spark important conversations around changing the culture throughout the STEMM sector.
Following the screening, the BPS’s Professional Opportunities for Women Committee (CPOW) organised a panel discussion to talk about how the movie relates to BPS member’s own experiences.
You can read a summary of the discussion here.
