Student & ECR Seed Funding Scheme

The ASB Student & ECR Seed Funding Scheme is a new initiative designed to support innovative, member-led activities that strengthen the Australian biophysics community. Through grants of $1,500–$2,000, the scheme will fund collaborative projects that bring together students and early-career researchers from across the country to develop new skills, build networks, and create lasting connections within the Society.

We envisage supporting a wide range of initiatives, including technical workshops, computational and analytical skills training, professional development events, networking activities, and other creative ideas that benefit the Australian biophysics community. Projects should involve collaboration between at least two ASB member groups and have a clear focus on community building, accessibility, and sustainability.

The Seed Funding Scheme will launch as a pilot program, with the first application round expected in the second half of 2026. As we develop the program, application dates, funding rounds, and assessment processes are still being finalised.
