Program Overview

Registration includes access to all social and scientific content (final program structure and content pending)!

A dedicated professional development session early on Sunday afternoon for our student and ECR members. This will give you a good idea of what to expect from the conference, how to maximise your experience, and introduce you to many of your peers!
A Sunday-night welcome mixer at La Trobe University with drinks and nibbles and an opportunity to peruse the posters.
A packed Sunday afternoon scientific session with an invited talk, a major award talk, and some of our selected or flash presentations.

A full day of science starting at 9am and running through until the late afternoon with invited, selected and flash talks.
Morning and afternoon tea breaks.
A lunchtime poster session (odds).
A second evening mixer with drinks and food with a further two hours of dedicated poster time (one hour odds then evens).

A morning of selected and flash scientific talks.
An early brunch around 11am.
A special Asian Biophysics Society symposium bringing together our ASB meeting with the siultaneous joint Korean and Japanese biophysics meeting. From Bendigo, ASB member Raymond Norton will present the plenary and Izzy Jayasinghe an invited talk before three invited presentations are beamed in from the meeting in Seoul.
A short break in the afternoon to explore Bendigo or take part in some of our historical or outreach activities (to be determined!).
An exciting Biophysics Public Lecture hosted by La Trobe University and held in the centre of town in the Capital Theatre. Drinks and nibbles provided afterwards and we will likely organise some pub visits for anyone wanting a square meal and/or more drinks.

Another full day of invited and selected science presentations.
An extended lunch with dedicated poster time (evens).
Return bus transport to the conference dinner at the beautiful Chateau Dore, a ten minutes trip from the La Trobe Campus. Dinner will run from 5.30-9.30 with a three-course menu and plenty of celebratory drinks!

One last invited talk, another major award talk, and possibly some selected presentations.

Inaugural sessions for our new Emerging Biophysicist Award and Outstanding Thesis Research Prize (developed to split the previous Young Biophysicist Award).
Award talks from winners of the Bob Robertson Award and McAulay-Hope Prize (pending nomination and award).
Opportunities to take part in outreach and reflections of the society’s 50th.
Special historical forums and events with some of our longest standing members!
