ASB 50th Annual Meeting 2026

ASB2026 celebrates fifty years of exceptional scientific conferences and the many scientists and committees that helped our society prosper. At part of the golden celebration we have introduced several new award schemes!

ASB 2026 Annual Awards

Recognition has always been an important part of the Australian Society for Biophysics Annual Scientific Meeting. ASB2026 features a range of Society awards celebrating excellence in research, innovation, communication, and service across all career stages.

Whether you’re a student, an early-career researcher, or an established investigator, we encourage you to consider applying or nominating a deserving colleague. Many of our awards include the opportunity to present your work during the Annual Scientific Meeting and there is also amply opportunity for our student and ECR talk and poster presenters to win cash prizes during the conference. All award recipients are recognised at the conference closing ceremony with a certificate!

Over $5000 in prizes will be handed out at the 50th meeting with winners announced during the closing ceremony!!

Important Information

  • Applicants for the Emerging Biophysicist and Thesis Research awards must also submit an abstract for the ASB2026 Annual Scientific Meeting.
  • Eligibility requirements vary between awards—please refer to the individual award pages for full details.
  • The Australian Society for Biophysics reserves the right not to make an award in any year if no application or nomination is judged to be of sufficient merit.

We encourage members to nominate outstanding colleagues and to apply for awards where eligible. Celebrating excellence is one of the best ways we can recognise the strength and diversity of the Australian biophysics community.
