ASB2026 combines an exciting scientific program with the welcoming, collaborative atmosphere that makes the Australian Society for Biophysics unique. Across five days, delegates will enjoy inspiring keynote presentations, selected talks, posters, networking events, Society celebrations, and opportunities to build new collaborations.

We are still accepting abstracts for inclusion in the program as poster/flash presentations. The portal will remain open until we reach capacity. If you would like to be added to the waitlist please contact the society directly.

Please note abstracts should be written for a broad biophysics audience and will be assessed on their own merit with no set quotas for sub-disciplines. If you have any questions about the process please get in touch!

Preparing Your Abstract

All accepted abstracts require an accompanying registration and in-person conference attendence. Registrants may present one abstract each but can be co-authors on as many abstracts as they like.

Abstracts may be submitted for consideration as either a selected short talk (approximately 12 minutes plus 3 minutes for questions) or a poster with an accompanying flash talk. All abstracts that fall within the scope of biophysics and are judged to be scientifically sound and of sufficient merit will be accepted for presentation in one of these formats. All poster presentations must be accompanied by a two-minute flash presentation.

To prepare your abstract (max 1 page, 250 words), please use this template. Inclusion of a graphical abstract is strongly encouraged and the best graphical abstract will be awarded a cash prize!!

Your abstract must conform to the style and formatting requirements set out in this document. Each abstract should fit into a single A4 page, including main text and graphical abstract.

The abstract should be saved as a *.docx *.doc or *.rtf file using the convention surname_firstname. (e.g. “Smith_Paul.).
